November 2025 - Victorian Schools in the past Workshop
On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to have Mr Cooke from Those History People who came to our school who carried out a Victorian Schools in the past work shop with us. We spent the first part of the morning in a Victorian classroom and had a quick sample of some lessons that Victorian children would have experienced.
Then we spent the 2nd part of the morning visiting a Victorian museum looking at variety of different artefacts from the Victorian times including some toys Victorian children would have used and things they would have used at school.
Geography
In our Geography lessons over the last few weeks we have been exploring the theme of hot and cold places. In our lesson this week we spoke about climates and learnt that the UK is a temperate climate. We then spoke about how weather is something that changes quickly and climate is what the conditions are like more long term. We then went outside and investigate what the weather conditions are like in Welwyn Garden City.
World Mental Health Day - 10th October
On the 10th of October we celebrated World Mental Health day. For part of our LOTC lesson we spent time making different pictures that would cheer people up if they were feeling unhappy. The other part of the LOTC lesson we spent revising our knowledge of how many tens and ones are in a number and we then used a mixture of natural resources as well as chalk to represent these numbers.
