Safeguarding Statement

As a Catholic school, we recognise the dignity and worth of each individual, and we strive to create a safe, secure, and nurturing environment where every child can flourish academically, emotionally and spiritually. We follow statutory guidance to ensure that robust safeguarding measures are in place to protect children from harm, abuse and exploitation. Our staff undertake training at least annually to recognise the signs of abuse and are vigilant in reporting any concerns to the designated safeguarding lead.

We work closely with parents, carers, external agencies and the wider community to safeguard children and promote their welfare. We encourage open communication and collaboration to ensure the safety of all our pupils.

If you have any safeguarding concerns or queries, please do not hesitate to contact our designated safeguarding lead, Katie Linnane, or deputy designated safeguarding leads, Lisa Clifford and Angela Micklethwaite, who are available to offer support, guidance and assistance.

Every child is a gift – ‘We need to see each children as a gift to be welcomed, cherished and protected.’ Pope Francis

We recognise that all staff and governors have a full and active part to play in protecting our pupils from harm, and that the child’s welfare is our paramount concern.  We ensure that anyone, paid or voluntary, who seeks to work in our school is safe to do so.

Together we are committed to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment where children feel safe, thrive and reach their full potential.
