School Uniform

The Holy Family Catholic Primary School Uniform

It is our school policy that all children wear school uniform when attending school, or when participating in a school-organised event outside normal school hours.

At the Holy Family catholic Primary School we believe that wearing school uniform promotes a sense of pride in the school, engenders a sense of community and belonging towards the school, is practical and smart, identifies the children with the school and makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance.

  • Medium grey shorts or long trousers. Cords, jeans or combat style trousers are not acceptable.
  • White polo shirt with school logo
  • Red school sweatshirt with school logo
  • Grey socks.
  • Sensible black shoes not trainers should be worn.

  • Medium grey skirt or pinafore dress or during the winter (Autumn & Spring terms) or grey trousers in a classic, traditional style not Lycra tight fitting.
  • White polo shirt with school logo.
  • Red school sweatshirt or cardigan with school logo.
  • Grey or white socks or grey or red tights.
  • Black shoes not trainers with sensible heels.
  • In summer, red and white checked dresses may be worn.

PE Kit - to be worn on PE days

  • School PE t-shirt with school logo
  • Black PE shorts (logoed shorts are not essential)
  • Plain black joggers or leggings, no logos and a plain black hoodie
  • Trainers or plimsolls - children should be able to tie their own laces if wearing lace up shoes.

PE kits are not kept in school and are worn on PE and outdoor learning days.

School bags

Children should have a Holy Family School bag.

EYFS and KS1 children (YR-Y2) should have the school book bag style bag.

KS2 children (Y3-Y6) are permitted to have the school ruck sack style bag should they wish to.

On health and safety grounds we do not allow children to wear jewellery in our school. The exceptions to this rule are a simple wristwatch and ear-ring studs in recently pierced ears. We ask the children to either remove these objects during PE and games, or cover them with tape, to prevent them from causing injury.

The school does not permit children to have ‘extreme’ haircuts, this includes shaved hair. If hair is long enough, it must be tied back, whether for boys or girls. Hair accessories should be small and should be of school colours, red, white or grey.

Sun hats

In the summer months all children should wear The Holy Family School hat whilst outside.

All logoed school uniform, including hats and bags are available from Your Team Sportswear, please follow the link below:-

We expect all parents to support us in making sure that our children are smart, and proud to wear their Holy Family School uniform. If you experience financial challenges when purchasing school uniform please contact school. Please label all clothing clearly.
