During a whole school assembly we were all taught about how a  fair and democratic election takes place.  We also talked about the importance of only voting for the candidates who we thought would benefit the school the most.  We knew what each candidate intended to deliver if they did eventually become part of the School Council as we listened to their manifesto speeches as a whole school. The whole process has been extremely exciting!

Visit from County Councillor Barbara Gibson - Thursday 12th October 2017

Barbara Gibson, County Councillor Visit

On Thursday 12th October we were extremely lucky to have a visit from our local county councillor Barbara Gibson. During her visit, Barbara listened to the children’s manifestos and then answered lots of question about her job that the children had prepared. One piece of advice that she gave us was to ‘know what is important to you, what I right and what is wrong and what you stand up for.’ We are going to invite Barbara back at the end of the year to see our progress on the actions that we have set for school council. Barbara left extremely impressed with how good our school council was and the democracy that we already have in place here at Holy Family.

Organising the new wet play games from the HFFA

We would like to thank the HFFA for purchasing new wet play games. We have organised these into boxes so that each class can use the different games during wet play.

Check out our new bins funded by the HFFA! Can you spot where they are?
