Holy Family operates a soft start opening meaning that classrooms are open to children from 8.50am.

If your child is unwell, please call the office by 9.00am on the day of absence. Parents are also required to send a note in to explain the absence when their child returns to school.
Please note: The School Governors follow County policy which states that absence for holidays taken during term time will be recorded as an unauthorised absence on the child’s record. In exceptional circumstances and if a child's attendance is 96% the Head Teacher may authorise an absence. Any request for an absence during term time must be submitted in writing.
Arriving Late/Leaving Early
Should your child arrive after 9am, please bring them to the school office (not directly to their classrooms as normal) and sign them in.
Please keep doctor, dentist etc appointments in school time to a minimum. Again, the children must be signed in and out at the school office.
School dinners are payable in advance weekly on a Monday morning or half termly. At the end of each term the amount required for the following term is displayed in the newsletter. We operate the pupil choice menu; the children make their meal choice at morning registration. If your child has an allergy, intolerance or special diet then please see Herts Catering Policy on our policy section and the statement on allergy, intolerance and special diet.
Home packed lunches should be brought in one container. Water is provided for all children.
Changes to packed lunches or school dinner arrangements may only be made if we are given one week’s notice in writing.
School milk is available for all KS1 children if required. Milk letters are sent home every term and payment is made on a termly basis. Further letters are available from the office.
Children in Reception who do not have milk are provided with water.
All money brought to the school should be in an envelope clearly marked with both the child’s name, the amount of money and the purpose.
Cheques for dinner money and milk money should be made payable to Hertfordshire Catering Limited. All other cheques should be made payable to Holy Family School. If possible, please use school gateway, the online payment system .The link for this is on the home page of this website.
School Uniform and Book Bags
Our uniform supplier is Your Team Sportswear all orders are made to them direct following the link below.
All orders are delivered to the school office every Wednesday, free of charge.
Parents must not use the staff car park. When parking outside of school please park with consideration to the residents of Crookhams. It is safer to park a distance from the school and walk the remainder of your journey. Please DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, park over the school driveway or in the disabled bays marked on the road. Thank you for your co-operation.
One Way System
During busy times such as the beginning and the end of the school day, we recommend that a clockwise one way system is followed in order to ease congestion.
Following recent feedback, we are happy to offer the following guidance regarding dress down days. All pupils are expected to dress in a manner appropriate for attending school and the lessons they will be undertaking.
We do not want pupils to wear for example: cropped or strapless tops; maxi dresses that drag on the ground; very short shorts and skirts; tops with inappropriate slogans; or trousers with excessive rips.
Backless and high heeled shoes should not be worn either. Long hair should continue to be tied back appropriately. With the exception of small studs and discreet watches, jewellery should not be worn.
We want everyone to enjoy not wearing uniform for the day. We do not want what is being worn to interfere with the children's learning or safety.
