If your child is unwell, please call the office by 9.00am on the day of absence. Please send a note in to explain the absence when your child returns to school.
Please note: The School Governors follow County policy which states that absence for holidays taken during term time will be recorded as an unauthorised absence on the child’s record.
Arriving Late/Leaving Early

To comply with Fire Regulations, should your child arrive after 9am, please bring them to the school office (not directly to their classrooms as normal) and sign them in.
Please keep doctor, dentist etc appointments in school time to a minimum. Again, the children must be signed in and out at the school office.

School dinners are payable in advance. Bills are sent out during the first week of every half term, and payment is due either weekly on a Monday morning or half termly. We operate the pupil choice menu; the children make their meal choice at morning registration.
Home packed lunches should be brought in one container. Water is provided for all children.
Changes to packed lunches or school dinner arrangements may only be made if we are given one week’s notice in writing.

School Milk
School milk is available for all infant children if required. Milk letters are sent home every term and payment is made on a termly basis. Further letters are available from the office.
Mid morning milk is being provided at reduced prices as a result of European Community subsidy and we have been asked to remind you that milk is good for you! Children in Reception who do not have milk are provided with water.
All money brought to the school should be in an envelope clearly marked with both the child’s name, the amount of money and the purpose.
Cheques for dinner money and milk money should be made payable to Hertfordshire County Council. All other cheques should be made payable to Holy Family School. If possible, please use Wisepay, the online payment system.

School Uniform and Book Bags
School uniform is supplied by John Lewis.
However, PE kits, water bottles, bookbags and gym bags are available to purchase from the school office. Please complete the school order form for these items. We encourage the children to take home their reading books, to protect the books they must be carried in book bags.
Car Parking
May we remind you that parents must not use the staff car park. When parking outside of school, may we ask you to please park with consideration to the residents of Crookhams. It is safer to park a distance from the school and walk the remainder of your journey. Please DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, park over the school driveway or in the disabled bays marked on the road. Many thanks for your co-operation.
One Way System
During busy times such as the beginning and the end of the school day, we recommend that a one way system is followed in order to ease congestion.
