After recalling the story Polar Bear, polar bear what do you hear, we found out some facts about where polar bears live and looked at the arctic. In CIL we discovered that some of the animals had been frozen in ice blocks! We explored different ways of melting the ice (hammering, pipettes with water, spoons) and discussed what we found.
We read Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What do you hear? We made collage polar bears. We printed snow backgrounds and added fingerprint snowflakes.
We made listening headbands with big ears to help us hear all the sounds around us. We went on a listening walk around school and talked about all the different sounds we heard. Then we went back into Nursery and made a class sounds picture of everything we had heard.
We have been learning how to be good learners like brown rabbit. We tried different challenges and discovered we have to keep trying and not give up. We talked about how we felt when we achieved the tasks.
We have had a super first week at Nursery playing in all the areas with new friends.
